V for Vendetta – 8.5 Stars
Inspiring Movie # 4
V For Vendetta
V For Vendetta starring Natalie Portman is inspiring movie #4.
This movie does an awesome job illustrating the power of few to manipulate the mass public with media control. It also has a great story line and surprising twist.
In the today’s world only six companies share ownership in 99% of the mass media. They are CBS, Viacom, Time Warner, General Electric, Walt Disney and News Corporation. There are 83 board of directors who control these six companies and two of them are on the board of two companies!
That means that only 81 people control 99% of the media that 300 millions Americans get 100% of their “facts” from!
They have the power to manufacture anything they want you to believe. Don’t forget the media is a “for profit” organization so they decisions will ALWAYS lean towards that which gets them “more profit.”
Sadly enough “the truth” is usually not the most profitable. People don’t pay for the truth, they pay for exciting and dramatic so that’s what they will be created.
If Pareto’s 80/20 principle were correct, then 60 million people would share ownership and control of the mass media messages delivered to the other 240 million people.
Forget the 80/20 Rule! Instead of 60 million people controlling all the information that the public receives, 83 people control it all!
Let me say that one more time.
83 PEOPLE CONTROL THE INFORMATION THAT 300,000,000 PEOPLE RECEIVE
I rate V For Vendetta 8.5 Stars.
